Our podiatrist will help your foot and ankle issues through non surgical techniques. Podiatrists treat a wide range of lower-extremity related pain and conditions and will take the time to find a diagnosis and solution for you.

Physiotherapist

We love keeping you active, healthy and happy.

Physiotherapy keeps you moving. Benefits include decreasing pain, improving joint mobility, increasing strength and coordination and improved cardiac function. Whether you are dealing with chronic pain, recovering from an illness or injury, visiting a physiotherapist can help.

Our experienced Physiotherapists at MDHSS are here to help you maintain your sporting goals or to simply remain active. We treat a variety of sporting and non-sporting injuries, including:

  • Headaches
  • Neck pain
  • Back pain
  • Upper limb pathologies including shoulder, arm, elbow, wrist and hand pain.
  • Lower limb pathologies including hip, leg, knee, shin, ankle and foot pain.
  • Sciatica
  • Arthritis (osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis)
  • Vertigo / Dizziness
  • Chronic pain

MDHSS Physiotherapists are available for treatment between Monday and Friday.

Your physiotherapy program will include an assessment of your condition and causative factors including postural alignment and biomechanics (including video analysis if required). Treatment of your condition may include:

  • Joint mobilisation
  • Soft tissue therapy
  • Dry needling technique
  • Taping to assist protection of joints/tissues or to assist with posture
  • Corrective retraining of your posture and biomechanics through exercise prescription

Speech Therapist

MDHSS Speech pathologist observe, diagnose and treat communication disorders, including difficulties with speaking, listening, understanding language, reading, writing and stuttering.

The speech therapist works with people who have difficulty communicating because of developmental delays, stroke, brain injuries, learning disability, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, dementia and hearing loss, as well as other problems that can affect speech and language.

Dietitian

MDHSS Dietitian is a regulated healthcare professional licensed to assess, diagnose, and treat nutritional problems

MDHSS Dietitian will provide expert nutrition and diet advice for people of all ages.

MDHSS dietitian will alter your nutrition based upon your medical condition and individual needs

Our Dietitian can help if you have the following issues:

  • Food Allergy
  • High Cholesterol
  • Diabetes
  • Cancer
  • Gastrointestinal Diseases
  • Are Overweight or Underweight.
  • Improving athletic performance

MDHSS Dietitians can help with many other health problems too as part of a Multi-Disciplinary team.

Family Counselling

Counselling services for children, adolescents, adults and families.

Counselling services for children, adolescents, adults and families. If you think you need to talk to a health professional about your mental health then you do.

Counselling is available weekly, Monday to Wednesday at MDHSS. Counselling services aim to strengthen the capacities of families and individuals in the community, and minimise those at risk. The service provides a mix of counselling, practical assistance, service coordination, case advocacy and social support to people living in the region.

If you require help or just need someone to talk to please call  5158 0243 to make an appointment. Mental health is just as important as your physical health, don’t delay speaking to a counsellor because you think your issue is ‘not that bad’.
